Google Delete Gmail December 1, Here’s How to Keep Emails from Disappearing Tech – 17 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Starting next month, December 1 to be precise, Google will delete Gmail accounts that have not been used for a long time.

This policy applies to all Google services, for example it is not used to access things like Gmail, Google Search or YouTube.

“The changes do not affect you unless you have not been active on your Google account for two years or have not used your account to log in to any Google service for more than two years,” Google said in a notification email received by CNBC Indonesia, Friday (10/11/2023).

Google began distributing notifications to users whose accounts were inactive. The reminder email will be sent approximately 8 months before the company takes action.

“After a Google account is deleted, the Gmail address for the deleted account cannot be used again when creating a new Google account,” explained Google.

Google also includes several ways to prevent accounts from being deleted later. One of them remains active at least every two years.

Additionally, here are several things users can do to avoid this policy:

1. Read or send an email

2. Using Google Drive

3. Watching videos on YouTube

4. Share photos

5. Download the app

6. Using Google Search
