Regarding this issue, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf), Sandiaga Uno, emphasized that the Coldplay ‘Music of the Spheres World Tour’ concert in Jakarta would continue despite the threat of the stage being burned by the masses. He also ensured that security forces would strictly guard the event location to anticipate disturbances at the concert that music lovers in the country are most eagerly awaiting.


Sandi admitted that he respected all opinions regarding Coldplay’s arrival to Indonesia, including rejection. However, he emphasized that the Coldplay ‘Music of the Spheres World Tour’ Jakarta concert could not be cancelled.

“All wishes to express opinions have been facilitated and of course we respect them, but everyone has been waiting for this concert and is within our legal corridor, so we invite all parties to make the Coldplay concert a success,” said Sandi. at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Office, Jakarta, last Monday (13/11/2023).

“Preparations and the concert must go smoothly because several concerts in the last few days have experienced problems,” stressed Sandi.

“We have to ensure this, don’t let Coldplay’s eyes turn to Indonesia [mengalami masalah]. “We have to ensure that this concert will run smoothly and of course have an impact on Indonesia and the Indonesian economy,” he continued.

Previously, Coldplay’s ‘Music of the Spheres World Tour’ Jakarta concert was rejected by the National Anti-LGBT Movement (Geranati LGBT) crowd on Friday (10/11/2023). In their speech, the crowd rejected Coldplay’s concert on Wednesday (15/11/2023) because the British band was considered to be campaigning for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT). As a result, the crowd threatened to burn down the stage if the concert continued.

“Don’t let the event continue, the Muslims are angry, the people are angry, everyone brings petrol and we will set it on fire later on the Coldplay stage,” said one of the orators at the British Embassy, ​​quoted from detiknews, Tuesday (14/11/2023).

“We are not against concerts. This is not a random concert. This is because there is LGBT propaganda in it,” continued the orator.
