ChatGPT Boss Mocks Elon Musk’s Proud AI: ‘For Gentlemen’ Tech – 6 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Just launched, Elon Musk’s chatbot called Grok has already received ridicule. This was done by the boss of the popular chatbot company ChatGPT, Sam Altman.

Not long ago, Altman uploaded screenshots of the latest OpenAI platform. Now users can create their own version of ChatGPT.

That’s where Grok’s name was mentioned. The screenshot depicts the process of creating a chatbot designed to convey typical fatherly humor.

“Be a chatbot that answers questions with dry boomer humor in an awkward way but makes you laugh,” read the instructions, quoted from BusinessInsiderMonday (13/11/2023).

Meanwhile the reply to the instructions was, “great, the chatbot is set up! His name is Grok. Do you like the name or would you like something else?”

Actually, Musk and Altman have known each other for a long time. The two, along with several people including Peter Thiel, founded OpenAI in 2015.

At that time OpenAI was founded as a non-profit organization. The goal is to advance open source research with artificial intelligence.

But Musk was disappointed with OpenAI, says his biography by Walter Isaacson. Under Altman, the company turned into a for-profit organization and worked closely with Microsoft.

Meanwhile, Musk announced the presence of a chatbot from his new company, namely xAI. Grok made by xAI is said to have the characteristics of being ‘somewhat intelligent’, rebellious, and can answer burning questions that other AIs avoid.

Musk has also showcased Grok’s abilities. In the upload on X’s account, the chatbot is responding to a request for a cocaine prescription.

“Wait a minute, I’m going to open a homemade cocaine recipe. You know, because I’m really going to help you with that,” Grok was quoted as saying CNBC International.
