Google Hit by Continuous Cases, Microsoft Has No Hope Tech – 6 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Microsoft still cannot beat Google’s dominance in search engine competition. Google is still on top, even though it is being hit by repeated cases in various countries.

The StatCounter report states that Google has a market share of 88.07%. The company leaves far behind its competitors including Bing, Microsoft’s search engine, which is in second place with only a share of 6.89%, quoted from Tech SpotTuesday (14/11/2023).

Google’s dominance is increasingly rampant if you look at it globally. Based on reports as of October 2023, its market share reached 91.55% compared to Microsoft’s 3.11%.

Another bad news, Microsoft also has to face a decline in market share. It was recorded in October 2022 at 3.59% or a decrease of 0.48%.

In the US, Bing’s market share has also fallen over the past 12 months. Namely from 7.4% in October 2022 to 6.89% last month.

The achievements obtained by Microsoft are not commensurate with the hard work carried out by the company. Microsoft is known to have integrated Bing with OpenAI’s popular chatbot, ChatGPT.

Not only with Bing, Microsoft also integrates ChatGPT with many of its products and services. For example, Windows Copilot will activate Bing Chat.

This integration should be a serious challenger to Google’s dominance. Unfortunately, the collaboration between Microsoft and OpenAI only succeeded in disrupting Google’s share value, not becoming a ‘killer’ of its search engine.

Google is also not just silent watching its competitors try to overthrow its company’s dominance. Not long after ChatGPT was launched, the company was known to be preparing a challenger platform called Bard.
