07:20 Video Taxes Increasingly Expensive, Cellular Operators Difficult to Expand Tech Services – 6 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia- Cellular operators have complained about the number of costs they have to bear to support operations. One of them is related to the increasingly expensive frequency spectrum tax.

General Chair of the Indonesian Telematics Society (Mastel), Sarwoto Atmosutarno, said that amidst the increase in bandwidth usage, the average price of Indonesian internet per Gigabyte is cheap, namely USD 0.42/GB. So the increase in frequency spectrum tax will increase the operator’s burden.

Meanwhile, ITB Telecommunication Observer, Ian Joseph Matheus Edward, revealed that currently frequency Usage Rights Fees (BHP) have eroded the stability and health of operators by up to 10%. This condition will of course have an impact on business and operators’ plans to expand internet services to remote areas.

What is the impact of this frequency spectrum tax increase? For complete details, see Bramudya Prabowo’s dialogue with the General Chair of the Indonesian Telematics Society (Mastel), Sarwoto Atmosutarno and ITB Telecommunication Observer, Ian Joseph Matheus Edward in Profit,CNBCIndonesia (Tuesday, 14/11/2023)
