Hamas’ Clever Way to Be Unseen by Israeli and American Spies Tech – 47 minutes ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – An intelligence report shared by the United States (US) revealed that Hamas had been planning an attack on Israel for a long time. The report explains how the group was able to carry out its plan and not be detected by the US or Israel.

Hamas members are said to communicate in completely old-fashioned ways and avoid today’s modern technology. Namely through a cable telephone network built in a tunnel under Gaza.

Communication was carried out during those two years. During that time, they communicated and planned operations and summoned hundreds of their members. However, there was no movement at all during that period until the attack was launched on October 7 2023.

The report also stated that Hamas also managed to escape detection by the US and Israel by avoiding the use of computers and cellphones. Members only communicate in designated areas.

“There wasn’t much discussion and back and forth and coordination outside the immediate area,” said one source, quoted from CNN, Monday (30/10/2023).

The US Office of the Director of National Intelligence declined to comment and the Israeli embassy in Washington did not respond to a request for comment.

US and Israeli intelligence actually received strategic warnings. However, neither side could anticipate the October 7 attack.

For information, the tunnel was built in Gaza over the last fifteen years. The Israeli defense forces call it the ‘Gaza metro’.

The network of tunnels forms a vast labyrinth. It is a place to store things like rockets and ammunition as well as a way for militants to move without their opponents knowing.

According to Israeli forces, the Gaza metro also houses an important command and control center carried out by Hamas.
