Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf), Sandiaga Uno, is targeting profits of up to US$75 million or around Rp. 1.16 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp. 15,503/US$) from the Coldplay ‘Music of the Spheres World Tour’ Jakarta concert.
Through the concert which will be held at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Main Stadium today, Wednesday (15/11/2023), Sandiaga is targeting a profit of up to IDR 1.16 trillion from a total of 60 thousand to 80 thousand spectators attending.
“Same as our initial prediction, US$1,000 to US$1,500 (or around Rp. 15.5 million to Rp. 23.2 million) per pax,” said Sandi at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Office, Jakarta, last Monday (13/11/2023).
“So, if we see that there is a total of 80 or 60 thousand that we are targeting as an audience then we might be able to see a number [pendapatan] between US$70 to US$75 million,” continued Sandi.
Apart from that, Sandi also assessed that Coldplay’s first arrival in Indonesia was able to boost the number of domestic tourists (wisnus) and foreign tourists (tourists) so that they could help move the economy.
In order to achieve this target, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy asked promoters to prepare the concert carefully so that no problems occur during and after the concert is held. Because Coldplay’s concert has a big impact on the Indonesian economy.
“Preparations and the concert must go smoothly because several concerts in the last few days have experienced problems,” stressed Sandi.
“We have to ensure this, don’t let Coldplay’s eyes turn to Indonesia [mengalami masalah]. “We have to ensure that this concert will run smoothly and of course have an impact on Indonesia and the Indonesian economy,” he continued.
Furthermore, Sandi guaranteed that the concert by Chris Martin et al. at GBK it will continue to be implemented even though it has reaped opposition from a number of parties.
“Yes, we are coordinating with law enforcement officials. We will coordinate with the police so that this concert runs comfortably, safely and enjoyable,” said Sandi.
