Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk provides a platform for coached MSMEs to showcase the best products and represent businesses that are moving up in class at the 128th Anniversary (HUT) kick off event on Friday (27/10).
It was recorded that at this event there were 15 MSMEs that had passed the curation from the curators to show off at the Road to UMKM EXPO(RT) BRILIANPRENEUR 2023 bazaar at the BRI 128th Anniversary kick-off event. The selected MSMEs represent 5 categories.
UMKM EXPO(RT) BRILIANPRENEUR 2023 itself will be held on 7-10 December 2023 at the Jakarta Convention Center. This event is part of a series of BRI 128th Anniversary activities which include various activities including Business Matching, Bazaar, Talkshow, Creative Lab, Community Activation and UMKM Awards.
With the theme “Crafting Global Connection”, this edition of BRILIANPRENEUR will feature Indonesian MSMEs that have been curated and meet global standards, but still rely on local resources, empowering local communities and caring for the environment.
BRI President Director, Sunarso, revealed that the increasingly important role of MSMEs in meeting community needs requires support from various parties. Through this activity, he hopes to provide pride for MSMEs to move up a class.
According to him, this activity is a necessary platform to maintain optimism among MSME players in promoting their best products, so that later they can encourage stronger domestic consumption, which is the main driver of Indonesia’s GDP growth.
“We must direct various efforts towards strengthening people’s purchasing power, increasing consumption, using domestic products. These things must be encouraged to really create jobs,” said Sunarso in a written statement, Thursday (02/11/2023).
Flagship products according to their categories look attractive on display in the Park Area, BRI Central Office, Jakarta. Among them is the Fashion & Waste category, one of which is represented by MSMEs which empower local craftsmen to weave and dye materials into a work called Boolao.
There is also Cute Monster by Nindhita with products created by children with special needs who have a passion for drawing and sketching. No less interesting, there is Batik Bocah, an MSME which produces batik specifically for children with a colorful appearance and thick with typical domestic motifs.
In the Food & Beverage category there is a brand that provides healthy snack options using local premium ingredients that are vegan, gluten-free, and do not contain colorings or preservatives (Casa Grata). There is also the famous brand Makaroni Ngehe, an MSME that has been established since 2013, giving consumers the experience of eating traditional snacks with extraordinary taste.
From the Accessories & Beauty category, there is Hexagon, a MSME that makes jewelry from recycled Polymer Clay materials whose coloring uses expired make-up, recycled plastic, wood and acrylic formed by laser cutting. Then Gentala, a watch product made from wood and resin by mixing local culture.
In the Healthcare/Wellness category, starting from fragrances with natural ingredients in the form of Fragrance Diffusers, soy candles, air fresheners, etc. (Euodia Home); then there is a brand that has received the MURI World award as the producer of telon products with the most variants in the world (Habbie Bangun Aromatic); there is also a Home & Body product brand with 100% high quality organic ingredients (Six Scents); and a brand of bar soap and essential oils that are useful for skin health (Scentible).
Lastly, there are those from the Home Décor & Craft category, such as Damdam Ceramics with environmentally friendly aesthetic ceramic products, Lacedream Macrame with sandals and home decor products from rope art, Jinjit Pottery which is ceramic handicrafts using food grade dyes.
As one of a series of BRI 128th Anniversary events, this bazaar is of course offering a 20% discount for all tenants and also lucky wheels with a minimum purchase of IDR 300,000,- via BRImo, BRI Debit, BRI Credit Card and BRI QRIS.
