Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Telkom has a series of businesses that are a source of fresh income for the company outside the telecommunications industry. One of them is data centers spread across a number of regions in Indonesia.
Telkom’s Main Director, Ririek Adriansyah, explained the latest news regarding his company’s data center. Currently, integration is being carried out in Singapore.
“The data center has started up and running. We are currently in the process of integrating the data center in Singapore. “Previously Telin was being integrated,” he said CNBC Indonesia ProfitsMonday (20/11/2023).
Telkom has two types of data centers. One of them is large scale and has been used by a number of tenants.
“Several large tenants have started to come in in June. Not yet large in number but they are starting to come in. So our data center in Cikarang has started to produce encouraging results,” said Ririek.
“Then it will be one way to improve our performance in Q3. We hope it can be sustainable in the next quarter and the following years,” he added.
One other business that is being developed is InfraCo. This is a step in consolidating telecommunications infrastructure for network sharing.
Ririek explained that Infraco is still in the process of forming an entity. Telkom is coordinating with the ministry regarding this matter.
“The transfer process itself will take time. Maybe in late 2024 or 2025,” explained Ririek.
This year, Telkom also merged Telkomsel with Indihome. This Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) service allows customers to access all mobile and fixed broadband services under one roof.
The merger continues to grow. In the future, unified payment services will be provided to make it easier for customers of both services.
“The fruits of this transformation can be felt in a sustainable manner this year and next year,” he concluded.
