Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Samsung consistently reduces or eliminates software updates on its Galaxy line of smartphones and tablets. This month, there is a list of Galaxy devices that no longer receive system and security updates.
One of them is the flagship device Galaxy Fold, namely the first folding cellphone from Samsung. The rest are some mid-range series.
These include Galaxy A20s, Galaxy A30s, Galaxy A50s, Galaxy A70s. All of these series are already 4 years old on the market, quoted from Sammobile, Wednesday (8/11/2023).
Apart from that, there is also the Galaxy Tab Active Pro tablet which was first sold in October 2019.
For the Galaxy M series, namely the cheap version with specifications almost the same as the Galaxy A, there are some that have update restrictions. These include the Galaxy M22 and Galaxy M52 5G.
These two cellphones were launched at the end of 2021 and have received security updates every 3 months for the first 2 years after launch. Now, both cellphones only get updates twice every 12 months or 1 year.
A few weeks ago, Samsung rolled out a security update for the Galaxy M52 5G in Latin America. Now, the South Korean manufacturer will also bring similar updates to European countries. Users in other countries can try it in the near future.
