Pertamina Wins 5 World Awards at GCSA 2023 News – 9 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – PT Pertamina (Persero) won 5 awards in the field of international standard sustainability. This shows the company’s seriousness in implementing ESG principles and supporting sustainability issues.

The award was won at the 2023 Global Corporate Sustainability Awards (GCSA) held by the Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE). GCSA is an awards event given to companies, organizations and individuals for their efforts in sustainability, which are stated in the Sustainability Report.

GCSA has been trusted as one of the prestigious competitions because it is global and competitive in scope. Apart from that, it also has a panel of professional, credible and independent judges in the field of sustainability from various countries.


The jury, among others, came from the Center for Corporate Sustainability, S&P Global – ESG Department, CSRWorks International, PWC – Climate Department, EY – Climate Change & Sustainability Department, and various universities and Sustainability Research Centers.

Pertamina Vice President Corporate Communication Fadjar Djoko Santoso revealed that the five awards received by Pertamina at GCSA 2023 were the Sustainability Reporting Award with the title “Silver Class of 2023” for PT Pertamina (Persero)’s 2022 Sustainability Report.

Meanwhile, the other four awards are the “Best Practice Award: Great Practice Award of 2023” which was won by PT Pertamina EP Donggi Matindok Field, Pertamina EP Sukowati Field, Pertamina Hulu Mahakam and DPPU Adi Sumarmo Solo.

“This award proves Pertamina’s commitment in its efforts to manage an environmentally friendly and sustainable business that is in line with globally applicable practices and is considered to have positive implementation and impact,” said Fadjar in a written statement, Thursday (16/11/2023).

Fadjar added, through the Social and Environmental Responsibility Program (TJLS) Pertamina continues to develop community life and the environment around the company’s work area to support sustainable business operations.

Pertamina, added Fadjar, runs the Kokolomboi Lestari Program, the Mahakam Pesut Conservation Care Program and the Tanjungsari Agro Culture Program which are appreciated worldwide.

The Tanjungsari Agro Culture program, for example, was implemented in Tanjungsari Hamlet, Ngesrep Village, Ngemplak Boyolali District for 3 years. This program, a response to the Covid-19 pandemic, focuses on empowering women through economic interconnection activities in society.

“We hope to continue to strengthen Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles, not only in operations in all business lines but also in driving the economy in society and the country. So, it is hoped that Pertamina will have a positive contribution in reducing emissions and achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” explained Fadjar.

Pertamina as a leading company in the field of energy transition is committed to supporting the 2060 Net Zero Emission target by continuing to encourage programs that have a direct impact on the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s).
