Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Car sales in October increased. One of the best sellers is the Toyota Innova.
The Toyota Innova will again become the best-selling car in RI in October 2023 by selling 7,171 units. This is the same achievement for four consecutive months because throughout July, August, September to October 2023 this car continues to be the best-selling car in Indonesia.
In the previous month, Innova sold 6,486 units. This car will also be the best-selling car in August 2023 with sales of 7,463 units and is able to beat the Avanza which is only in third place by selling 6,283 units.
In July 2023, Innova managed to sell 5,760 and also beat Avanza which at the same time was in fourth position by selling 4,758 units.
In October 2023, the Honda Brio was in second place by selling 6,109 units, while the Toyota Avanza sold 5,278 units.
Daihatsu Sigra is in fourth position by selling 5,078 units and Toyota Calya sold 3,821 units.
In total, car sales from factories to dealers, aka wholesalers, in October 2023 experienced a sharp decline on an annual basis, namely 12,923 units or 13.9% to 80,271 units from the previous 93,194 units. Although, compared to September 2023, car sales in October 2023 increased slightly by 352 units or 0.44%.
This achievement makes October sales the third lowest since the beginning of 2023, after sales in May and September. Those recorded were 58,981 units and 79,919 units respectively.
In terms of brand, Toyota is still recorded as the best seller with sales of 27,438 units, higher than its Astra sibling, namely Daihatsu, which is in second place with sales of 14,099 units.

10. Toyota Agya – 2,239 units
11. Honda HR-V – 2,159 units
12. Mitsubishi Xpander – 1,635 units
13. Daihatsu Ayla – 1,520 units
14. Honda WR-V – 1,471 units
15. Daihatsu Xenia – 1,453 units
16. Toyota Veloz – 1,387 units
17. Suzuki XL7 – 1,347 units
18. Toyota Hilux – 1,344 units
19. Mitsubishi Xpander Cross – 1,218 units
20. Toyota Raize – 1,193 units.
Meanwhile, Gaikindo data shows that car sales in October 2023 were recorded to have increased by 352 units to 80,271 units compared to the previous month. This achievement makes October sales the third lowest since the beginning of 2023, after sales in May and September.
When compared to sales in October 2022 which reached 93,194 units, car sales in October 2023 were 13.86% lower.
Accumulatively, national car sales for the January-October 2023 period were also 1.80% lower than the accumulation for January-October 2022. That is, from 851,399 units to 836,049 units.
