Ministry of Defense Closes Website Temporarily, Data is Safe Tech – 13 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Ministry of Defense is taking a number of steps to investigate allegations that the Ministry of Defense website was hacked by hackers. Including temporarily deactivating the ministry’s official website.

The Public Relations Bureau of the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Defense explained that the ministry led by Prabowo Subianto had deployed a Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT). The team will be tasked with investigating the alleged hack.

“To explore this matter by conducting an assessment of the data and internet network within the Ministry of Defense. This activity is to investigate and at the same time ensure the security of the data network and internet within the Indonesian Ministry of Defense,” said the Public Relations Bureau of the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Defense in a statement, Friday (3/11/ 2023).


Shutting down the Ministry of Defense site was also chosen because it had to carry out this assessment. Apart from that, the Public Relations Bureau also explained that this effort was a preventive measure.

This way the team can also investigate suspected hacking in more depth. This includes being able to identify the root of the problem.

The Public Relations Bureau promises that the site will be turned back on as soon as the assessment is complete and network security is verified. Because the site is said to be a source of information for the public.

However, the ministry also emphasized that no sensitive data was affected by this incident. Sensitive data has been secured with stringent measures.

“Strict security measures have been implemented by the Ministry of Defense to protect sensitive data and ensure that the information presented on the Ministry of Defense website remains accurate and trustworthy,” said the Public Relations Bureau.
