Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – A number of names have emerged to be Prabowo Subianto’s companion in the upcoming 2024 elections. Including President Joko Widodo (Jokowi)’s eldest son, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who will run as vice presidential candidate (cawapres), which apparently was approved by almost 60% of people in a survey.
The Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) conducted a survey involving 1,299 Indonesian citizens aged 17 years and over. As a result, 59.7% of respondents agreed that Gibran, who is also Mayor of Solo, will be Prabowo’s running mate next year, quoted from detik.com, Sunday (22/10/2023).
LSI researcher Djayadi Hanan explained that there were 35.2% who did not agree with Gibran becoming vice presidential candidate. Meanwhile, more than 40% know about information about Gibran accompanying Prabowo in the 2024 election.
“Around 46.6% know the news that Gibran Rakabuming will run as Prabowo Subianto’s cawapres in the upcoming 2024 elections. More people agree that Gibran Rakabuming will become Prabowo Subianto’s cawapres in the 2024 elections,” said Djayad.
This survey was conducted after the Constitutional Court decided that presidential and vice presidential candidates were allowed to be under the age of 40. However, this decision is provided that the candidate has previous experience as regional head.
This survey was conducted using the telephone. Meanwhile, for sample selection, random digital dialing (RDD) is used or a technique for selecting samples using a random generation process.
The national population rate covered by telephone is 83%. The margin of error for this survey is approximately 2.9% and the confidence level reaches 95%.
