Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Prospective vice presidential candidate from the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Gibran Rakabuming Raka is sparing in talking about his membership status as a PDI Perjuangan cadre. He only said that the issue of his membership in the PDI Perjuangan was clear.

“That’s it clear you know, that’s it clear,” he said when met after undergoing a medical test at Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital, Jakarta, Thursday (26/10/2023).

Gibran did not explain further the meaning of his statement about ‘clear’. He only brought up his meeting with the Chair of the PDI-P DPP, Puan Maharani.

“I’ve answered that,” he said. “I’ve answered it since last week, since last week’s meeting,” he continued.

Chairman of the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team Rosan Roeslani also said the same thing. When met after the Prabowo-Gibran medical test, Rosan said that Gibran’s status at PDIP had been conveyed.

“It was already conveyed earlier,” he said. “Yes, I’ll hear from you later… it’s officially been conveyed, right?” he continued.

He was reluctant to explain further and returned to the Gatot Soebroto RSPAD building.

Previously, the Chair of the PDI Perjuangan DPP, Puan Maharani, revealed that Gibran had said goodbye to becoming Prabowo’s vice presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election. Puan said this statement was made when she met him on Friday (2/10/2023).

“We discussed a lot of things. Yes, that’s no problem. Mas Gibran said goodbye to wanting to become Mas Prabowo’s vice presidential candidate,” said Puan, quoted by CNNIndonesia.

Puan did not reveal the location of the meeting with Gibran. On that occasion, according to him, Gibran only said goodbye, without handing over his party membership card (KTA).

“Nothing. Nobody gave a KTA. Just saying goodbye to becoming Mas Prabowo’s vice presidential candidate,” he said.

Puan also did not expressly reveal Gibran’s farewell statement as a statement to resign from the party. Nevertheless, Puan congratulated Gibran on officially becoming vice presidential candidate.
