Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Ganjar Pranowo, one of the presidential candidates, talked about his discussions with Indonesian researchers regarding problems in the world of Indonesian research.
According to Ganjar, he had time to chat with several researchers, including those working at the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).
“They asked, Sir, why are we being ignored? Research costs are already very small, try up to 1 percent of GDP,” he said at the Workshop of 100 Indonesian Economists held by INDEF together with CNBC Indonesia, Wednesday (8/11/2023).
Researchers, according to him, have extraordinary enthusiasm and ability for research. In fact, many of the research results of scientists in Indonesia are now used by foreign companies.
Therefore, Ganjar stated that there must be a relationship between researchers and local industry and global industry.
“When can we collaborate with them so that we can become producers together? That’s why collaboration with domestic suppliers is important.”
