Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The US government has long blocked Huawei technology. But now the company from China continues to make surprises that make Joe Biden embarrassed because his policies have failed miserably.
Recently, Huawei made a surprise that shocked the technology industry when it launched the Mate 60 Pro last August. This cellphone marks Huawei’s comeback in the flagship market, because it supports 5G networks.
The US immediately reacted by completely blocking all components and advanced chip manufacturing equipment from China. They accused Huawei of violating trade sanctions because it could access chips to support 5G networks.
After that excitement, now Huawei will present a new surprise. The company is said to be launching the P70 series in the near future.
This was known from a post on Weibo, a Chinese social media similar to X (formerly Twitter). From leaks, it is known that Huawei is working again with SMIC to produce CMOS camera sensors for its newest cellphones.
The P70 series itself is predicted to be introduced early next year, quoted from PhoneArena, Thursday (9/11/2023).
Huawei is said to no longer stock Sony camera sensors. The manufacturer can also no longer access Sony technology, after their business relationship was terminated by the Japanese technology giant.
So far, Huawei’s P series is famous for its excellence in the photography sector. If you can’t get sensors from Sony, it’s not impossible that Huawei will try hard to produce its own sensors.
However, this is not easy. Most smartphone vendors have relied on camera sensors from third party vendors such as Sony and Samsung. In fact, Apple, which only designs camera processor applications, still relies on camera sensors made by Sony.
Last year, Huawei also lost its photography partnership with Leica. This forced Huawei to produce its own photography system called Xmage.
Huawei’s mentality of always trying to get rid of dependence after being abandoned by vendors seems to have given the manufacturer a strong competitive edge.
After making its own operating system, its own chip, and its own camera processing, will Huawei succeed in developing its own camera sensor? Let’s just wait until the launch of the P70 in the near future.
