Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Joko Widodo paid a working visit to attend the extraordinary High Level Conference (Summit) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Saudi Arabia. He arrived in Riyadh on Saturday (11/11/23) morning and immediately rode in a Mercedes-Maybach S 660 Guard.
This Mercy is a luxury car with high security. The exterior is coated with steel which is claimed to have the ability to ward off bullets from assault rifles.
Not only that, the Mercedes-Maybach S600 Guard can also withstand two HG 85 hand grenades being detonated simultaneously. This car already has ERV 2010 certification or an explosive-resistant vehicle.
The body is made of steel and the glass windows are capable of withstanding steel bullets, including those fired from assault rifles.
It’s not surprising, because this car, which has been around since 2014, is the first vehicle to be certified with VR10, the highest level of ballistic protection for non-military vehicles.
This exclusive security has made many world leaders trust this car as their vehicle, including when the King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud visited Indonesia in 2017.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and first lady Emine Gulbaran also used this car when attending the G20 Summit in Bali in 2022.
For Jokowi, he is recorded as having used the Mercedes-Maybach S600 Guard on working visits to other countries, including when he came to Japan and South Korea in the middle of last year.
Even though it is luxurious and prioritizes safety, it cannot be proud of in terms of speed because the maximum speed is 190 km/hour which is electronically limited. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h is not that fast because it is only 7.9 seconds.
In terms of engine, the Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Guard has a 6.0 liter V12 engine, or 5,980 cc to be precise. The machine has a maximum power of 523 horsepower at 4,900-5,300 rpm with a maximum torque of 830 Nm at 1,900-4,000 rpm.
