Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Thousands of pro-Palestinian demonstrators rallied in Washington on Saturday (4/11) in front of the White House to demand a ceasefire in Gaza.
Pro-Palestinian demonstrators waved Palestinian flags and held banners while shouting sentences against US President Joe Biden.
World and regional powers have failed to reach a consensus on how to handle the conflict that has escalated in the four weeks since Hamas fighters, who control the Gaza Strip, forced their way across the border, killing 1,400 people and taking more than 240 hostages.
Since then, Israel has attacked Gaza from the air, imposed a siege and launched ground attacks, raising global concern over humanitarian conditions in the enclave and killing more than 9,488 Palestinians, Gaza health officials said on Saturday.
Other pro-Palestinian protests also took place on Saturday in European capitals and major cities around the world.
