Xiaomi Stops Using MIUI, Announces Replacement Tech – 9 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Xiaomi finally stops using MIUI. For 13 years, MIUI has been synonymous with Xiaomi software and all users are familiar with it.

In March this year, MIUI 14 based on Android 13 was announced in India. The Xiaomi 13 Pro is the first smartphone to run the software directly.

However, the brand is planning to bid farewell to MIUI soon and has announced a new OS, which has been named HyperOS.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun announced the arrival of the software device via social media. However, not much is known about HyperOS other than its name.

“Today marks a historic moment. After years of collective work, our new operating system, #XiaomiHyperOS, will make its official debut at the #Xiaomi14Series,” he wrote.

Additionally, in a post on Weibo, Jun wrote that the new software is based on the fast-growing integration of Android and the self-developed Vela system.

The company completely rewrote the underlying architecture and prepared the public base for the Internet.

“All for tens of billions of devices and tens of billions of connections in the future,” he said.

It should be noted that HyperOS is not just limited to smartphones, but will be available on all Xiaomi devices.

For the Xiaomi 14 series, it will reportedly consist of two models, namely the Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro. Although the exact launch date is not yet known, the smartphone is expected to launch right after the launch of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor on October 24, according to a previous report from Xiaomi.

The report also adds that the phone may be launched before November 11, which is an important date in China as it coincides with the Double Eleven shopping festival taking place.
