Virginia Water appoints new managerial team

Virginia Water’s Northern Side Premier Division County League affiliate has appointed a new management team after Dan Bailey stepped down on Thursday.

The Waters have appointed Paul McCarthy as the club’s First Team manager with former Windsor & Eton and Bracknell Town full-back Ryan Parsons joining the coaching staff.

McCarthy was most recently Assistant Manager at Premier Division Ashford Town (Middlesex) and during his playing career featured for Bracknell Town and Uxbridge.

The club have moved quickly to replace Bailey who departed on Thursday – it is not yet clear whether the defender will remain there as a player.

A club statement said: Virginia Water is delighted to announce the appointment of Paul McCarthy as First Team manager.

Paul joins the club with a wealth of experience, having previously managed Ashford Town and worked with Chertsey Town, and brings a strong track record of leadership and success in non-league football.

Joining Paul in the dugout will be Ryan Parsons, who will take over as coach. Ryan brings valuable experience from his time as a player with Slough Town, Maidenhead United and Bracknell Town.

We are also pleased to confirm that Dave Atkins will remain in the role of Assistant Manager and Ben Warren will continue in the coaching role.

Everyone at Virginia Water gave Paul and Ryan a warm welcome.

Virginia Water travel to Ardley United on Saturday afternoon in the Combined Nations League.
