Rod Stewart’s son suffered a brutal knockout just 13 seconds after his boxing debut.
Sean Stewart, the third oldest of Rod’s eight children, made his move into the chaotic world of Misfits Boxing at a show in Nashville, Tennessee last weekend.
Misfits brings together social media influencers, former MMA fighters and other sports figures and celebrities with Sean having an unforgettable debut on Saturday.
Stepping between the ropes for the first time at the age of 45, Sean was billed as ‘Rod Stewart’s son’ as part of DAZN’s live coverage of the fight.
After the opening bell, he was immediately attacked by his opponent Bdave, 18 years his junior.
With just 13 seconds of the fight going on, the son of the music legend was caught with a hard right hand and two follow-up punches that sent him crashing to the mat.
It made some unwanted history for Sean with the fastest knockout in Misfits boxing history.
Sean was left prone on the mat, remaining down while his opponent celebrated wildly before being helped back to his feet by the referee.
His father Rod was absent – perhaps for the best.
In an uncomfortable situation, Stewart appeared to have little boxing experience, failing to keep his guard up when his opponent started targeting him with shots – one of the most basic and fundamental rules of the sport.
‘Why did he put his hand down,’ one viewer wrote on
‘Tell me this fight should have happened,’ wrote another. ‘Rob Stewart’s son could barely even push him. He doesn’t even look stable on his own two feet.’
Bdave by comparison has fought seven times previously in various exhibition bouts.
