Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – SMPN 7 Cirebon City, a school supported by Pertamina Hulu Energi ONWJ, achieved the title of national level adiwiyata school through the implementation of clean energy from solar panels in the Independent Energy School program. This was conveyed by the Head of SMPN 7 Cirebon, Euis Sulastri, when giving a speech at the Energizing Sustainable Community activity, at SMPN 7 Cirebon City.
In this activity, SMPN 7 Cirebon City symbolically received assistance from solar panels with a capacity of 3.3 Kwt (kilowatt) as well as assistance from avocado, durian, guava and lemon tree seedlings in the school garden.
“Thank you to Pertamina. The assistance and support from Pertamina is our big dream that suddenly came true, so we feel we have received an unexpected blessing,” said Euis.
Plt. Mayor of Cirebon Eti Herawati when giving a speech. On behalf of the Cirebon City Government, it welcomes Pertamina’s contribution to its region.
“This is a matter of pride for us. Of the 10 points in Indonesia, one of them is SMPN 7 Cirebon City which is the location for Pertamina’s self-sufficient energy school program. This is hard work from all parties in the school, the struggle made by the mothers has paid off,” he said .
He also expressed his gratitude for Pertamina’s contribution in developing Proklim in Diversity Village, RW 08, Merbabu Asih, Larangan Village, Harjamukti District, Cirebon City.
On the same occasion, PT Pertamina (Persero) CSR Manager Dian Hapsari Firasati said that the solar panel assistance was part of the Independent Energy School (SEB) program. The SEB program is a development of the Independent Energy Village (DEB) program that has been implemented by Pertamina.
As is known, previously Pertamina had installed solar panels in the Diversity Village which provided electricity for four programs there, namely MSME outlets, hydroponic gardens, environmentally friendly batik making and waste banks.
“The DEB program has been implemented so far in Pertamina’s ring 1 area in order to support the net zero emission target initiated by the government,” he said
The SEB program carried out by Pertamina at SMPN 7 Cirebon City is an effort to help schools achieve independent levels in adiwiyata schools. He hopes that when it reaches independent level, SMPN 7 Cirebon City can inspire other schools.
“In the context of Pertamina’s energy transition process towards net zero emissions, we hope that through this program children will understand the importance of using clean, environmentally friendly energy,” he concluded.
