Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The 2023 U-17 World Cup is approaching the round of 16 phase. As of Friday (17/11/2023) at 16.30 WIB, as many as 10 national teams (timnas) already held tickets to advance to the last 16.
All national teams in Group A and Group B completed all their matches on Thursday (16/11/2023).
From Group A, Morocco emerged as group winners with a collection of six points, while the runner-up position was won by Ecuador, who were unbeaten during the group phase with a total of five points.
Meanwhile, from Group B, Spain won the group after successfully bagging seven points from three unbeaten matches. Mali was the country that accompanied Spain to advance to the round of 16 from Group B with a total of six points.
Still from Group B, Uzbekistan also secured a ticket to the round of 16 with the best third place status. It was noted that Uzbekistan brought four points from the group stage.
Even though Groups C to F have not yet completed the third matchday, a number of national teams have been confirmed to advance to the next round, namely England (Group C), Senegal (Group D), France (Group E), the United States (Group E), and Germany (Group F ).
Meanwhile, Indonesia still has hopes of qualifying for the last 16 of the 2023 U-17 World Cup as the third best in the standings with several scenarios, namely Mexico vs New Zealand a goalless draw and South Korea vs Burkina Faso a draw.
