Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – BPJS Health is a national social security system to provide health protection for the Indonesian people. The mechanism is similar to insurance, namely participants are required to pay monthly contributions.
As long as their membership status is active, participants can get free health services at clinics, health centers and hospitals that collaborate with BPJS Health.
Surgery is one of the health services covered by BPJS. However, it should be noted, there are several types of surgery that are not covered. Check out the following, summarized by CNBC Indonesia, Sunday (12/11/2023).
The list of operations is not covered by BPJS Health
- Operations Due to the Impact of Accidents
- Cosmetic or Aesthetic Surgery (surgery that is not harmful to health)
- Surgery Due to Self-Injury (operation due to inaccuracy or carelessness which results in injury)
- Operations at Overseas Hospitals (surgeries performed outside the reach of BPJS Health)
- Operations that do not comply with BPJS Health Procedures (operations that do not complete the appropriate application procedures)
However, based on the guidelines for implementing National Health Insurance (JKN), namely Minister of Health Regulation (Permenkes) Number 28 of 2014, there are 19 types of operations covered by BPJS Health, namely.
