Hooray! RI Citizens in Remote Areas Can Finally Enjoy Internet Tech – 19 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – At the end of this year, a number of people in the 3T area will be able to access the internet. Because, thousands of 4G BTS are ready to go on air in 2023.

Minister of Communication and Information, Budi Arie Setiadi, explained that around 5,000 BTS are ready to be switched on by the end of the year. Meanwhile, there are still 700 BTS whose construction is experiencing security problems.

“The end of this year is done. The people’s right to receive bandwidth. This year they can use the internet,” said Budi when met at the Digital Creative Leadership Forum, in Jakarta, Thursday (9/11/20230).

The construction of 4G BTS was also one of the things Budi discussed when he met with Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, Jampidsus and Jamdatun. Budi revealed this meeting in a post on his official Instagram account.

Asked about the meeting, Budi explained that they discussed the issue of assisting legal officers in various Ministry of Communication and Information programs. This includes 4G BTS.

“We are talking about how to assist legal officers in our various programs. All of them are 4G BTS, data centers and frequencies,” he said.

The 4G BTS project was in the spotlight because there were allegations of corruption involving Johnny Plate as the former Minister of Communications and Information and former Main Director of Bakti Anang Latief. Both of them have also been found guilty and sentenced to 15 years and 18 years in prison.

Budi ensured that existing legal problems would not interfere with the progress of the 4G BTS development. Legal issues and 4G BTS have their own paths.

“The progress of building the BTS according to the president’s orders must be a legal issue, another matter. But the realization of the 4G BTS is the service of the Ministry of Communication and Information,” said Budi.
