Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The government, in this case the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), has increased the subsidy value for converting electric motorbikes from previously only IDR 7 million to IDR 10 million.

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Arifin Tasrif, said that the government had increased the subsidy for converting electric motorbikes to IDR 10 million from IDR 7 million and is now in effect. “Rp. 10 million has been decided for the conversion. Starting now it will also be running,” said Arifin when met at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Office, Jakarta, quoted Monday (13/11/2023).

So, how do you register for the electric motorbike conversion program?

It’s easy, for people who want to convert fuel motorbikes to electric motorbikes, they can at least register themselves via the digital platform on the EBTKE website of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

This platform provides applicant services, namely for registering the conversion, selecting information on the nearest conversion workshop to the location, and being able to check the status of the motorbike conversion work.

Meanwhile, for conversion workshops, workshops can also register to become conversion workshops through the platform.

Apart from that, the engine capacity of motorbikes that can be converted to electricity is in the CC range of 100-150 CC. Meanwhile, on the platform there are 9 conversion stages. But don’t worry, these 9 stages are almost all the responsibility of the conversion workshop.

1. Applicants can fill out the registration form online or come directly to the conversion workshop to register

2. The conversion workshop carries out technical checks on the condition of the motorbike and the completeness of the vehicle documents (suitability of KTP, STNK, BPKB, engine number and chassis number)

3. Make an agreement between the motorbike owner and the repair shop regarding conversion costs

4. The applicant fills out a statement of willingness to convert a motor vehicle

5. The workshop begins work on converting the applicant’s motorbike

6. Workshops Submit SUT and SRUT Applications Online to the Ministry of Transportation

7. Ministry of Transportation Uploads Published SUT & SRUT

8. LVI Performs Verification
