This hashtag was widely used by netizens after Dior, a French luxury brand, reportedly fired the Palestinian-American (US) supermodel, Bella Hadid, as brand ambassador-his.

Reporting from Turkiye media, Yeni Safak, Dior reportedly recruited a model from Israel, May Tager, to replace Bella as the model in their new advertisement. This was done because Bella was very vocal in defending Palestine.


It is known that Bella is one of the public figures who is very vocal about her support for Palestine. In fact, the 27 year old model admitted that she didn’t mind if her career was threatened as a result of this support. Bella herself is a Palestinian-Dutch supermodel.

“I am not afraid of losing my job as a model and I will continue to speak out regarding Palestine. Even if my career stops, I will never stop supporting Palestine,” said Bella, quoted from Turkiye NewspaperWednesday (8/11/2023).

Until now, Dior has not provided an official statement regarding the issue of Bella’s dismissal. However, May Tager is seen as Dior’s latest advertising model for the latest product campaign for the Dior Holiday edition. May Tager also uploaded this opportunity via her personal Instagram account (@maytager).

Based on research by CNBC Indonesia, the issue of Bella Hadid’s dismissal and calls for a boycott of Dior have become the main topics at X recently. However, there is one tweet that attracts attention because it contains the results of fact checking (fact check) of X.

One of the X users, Jackson Hinkle (@jacksonhinklle), wrote news regarding Bella Hadid’s dismissal. In the same post, Hinkle said that Bella was fired for supporting Palestine.

“Dior REPLACED Bella Hadid with a model from ISRAEL for their latest campaign. This happened after Bella Hadid voiced her support for Palestine,” wrote Hinkle.

At the bottom of the tweet, there is a fact-checking results column that includes X from other users. In this column, a statement was written that the issue of Bella being fired by Dior was not true.

“This is not true. Bella Hadid has left Dior for Charlotte Tilbury since March 2023,” wrote X while including the related article.

In this column, X also included articles from Beauty Crew and Business of Fashion regarding Bella leaving Dior to become Charlotte Tilbury’s newest brand ambassador.

If traced via the official Instagram account (@charlottetilbury), on March 2 2023, Charlotte Tilbury uploaded an announcement that Bella was the newest brand ambassador for her brand.

“All the rumors are true! We are thrilled to announce that SUPERMODEL and global beauty ICON @BellaHadid, is joining Charlotte Tilbury Beauty!” Write the caption for the upload.
