Defense of TikToker Arrested in Religious Harassment Case Lifestyle – 1 hour ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – TikToker named Fikri Murtadha (28), from Deli Serdang, North Sumatra (North Sumatra) is a suspect in a case of alleged blasphemy against Christians. He has also been detained since Saturday (21/10/2023).

This case started when a video of the perpetrator talking about Christianity went viral on social media. The owner of the TikTok account @bangmorteza talks about the cross and Christian teachings.

“Because the God you worship is the one who was hanged, for Catholics he was hanged, for Protestants he was not hanged. For those of you who still worship him, please go home later after you repent,” he said.


“Please return the pole to PLN later. Let us have a place to hang the transformer and cable. Turn your church into a mosque,” said Fikri in a video using a mustache filter.

Fikri’s Defense

When he was arrested, Fikri provided clarification regarding his words in the video. He said the video was initially made as a joke. However, he just realized that his jokes were too much.

For his mistake, he has also apologized.

“That’s actually just it jokes That’s all, but it’s excessive and doesn’t know the limits. And I have violated the law, norms, and adhere to religion. I am sorry. I have no intention of attacking either side. I also have many non-Muslim friends. “But many of my friends will be disappointed and I accept that because I was wrong,” said Fikri.
