BMKG Explains the Cause of Boiling Hot Weather in Indonesia Lifestyle – 3 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has opened its voice regarding the hot weather occurring in Indonesia. This weather has lasted until near the end of October.

In September 2023, temperatures in a number of regions in Indonesia reached 35.4 to 38 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, on 17-18 October 2023, Kertajati, West Java, recorded the highest temperature reaching 38.6 degrees Celsius.

From its official Instagram account, BMKG explained that one of the causes of this scorching heat was the low level of cloud growth. Especially this happens during the day.

Apart from that, air humidity in a number of areas was also recorded as being in the low category. BMKG explained that the apparent position of the Sun is moving south of the equator, which is the cause of its rays being more intense in Indonesia.

“The apparent position of the sun shows movement south of the equator which has the impact of relatively more intense solar radiation on Indonesian territory,” wrote BMKG, quoted on Sunday (22/10/2023).

This hot temperature will likely still be felt until the end of October, said BMKG. However, it will start to decline in November.

“The decrease in temperature is predicted to start occurring in November in line with the start of the transition or transition period in several areas,” wrote BMKG.

Meanwhile, in a different upload, BMKG provided a weather forecast for DKI Jakarta as of Monday (23/10/2023). The entire area is predicted to experience sunny and cloudy weather.

Meanwhile, the temperature is predicted to range from 24 to 33 degrees Celsius. With humidity between 50 to 85.
