Apple Creator Suffers Stroke in Mexico Tech – 5 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Apple founder Steve Wozniak was reportedly hospitalized due to a stroke in Mexico.

Reuters reports that Wozniak, who often goes by the name Woz, is scheduled to appear at the World Business Forum in Santa Fe, Mexico to speak at 4.20 pm local time.

However, the 73-year-old computer scientist was reportedly rushed to hospital. Organizers did not respond to requests for comment Reuters.

Woz founded Apple Computer with Steve Jobs in 1976. Jobs, who long led Apple as CEO, died in 2011.

Previously, Woz worked for the Hewlett-Packard company. If Jobs was known as a visionary and always appeared in front of the screen, Woz was said to be the real brain behind the development of the Mac operating system and Apple computers which pioneered the personal computer (PC).

Wozniak had an accident in 1981, when the private plane he was piloting crashed while taking off. His recovery took two years and he suffered from various injuries and amnesia.

The accident made Woz absent for some time from Apple. It wasn’t until 1983 that he returned as an engineer. He does not want a higher position because technical matters are his hobby.

Woz really didn’t like being in management. Finally, because he felt he was no longer needed at Apple, Woz left in 1985 and sold most of his shares. He also thinks Apple is heading in the wrong direction.
