Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) can’t help himself in next week’s Emmerdale as he pursues his romance with Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy), who has no idea that he is currently exploiting a number of vulnerable adults and teenagers.
Ray catches Laurel’s attention because he spends a lot of time at The Hide, where Laurel works.
Ray knows that he will never be able to live with Laurel, but enjoys spending time with her because she serves as a reminder that his world could have looked very different if Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) had not adopted him.
Elsewhere next week, April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) prepares to leave the village to look for another job but is caught by Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock). Feeling overwhelmed by everything she’s been through this year, April prepares to reveal the truth to her father.
Plus, Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) reflects on his relationship with his father when Bear Wolf’s (Joshua Richards) birthday rolls around. He admits that he misses his father very much, not realizing that he was much closer than Paddy thought.
And at Celia’s ranch, the drug lord tells Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) to give young Robbie some consequences with a baseball bat. But will he?
‘Celia likes Dylan because he reminds her of Ray’, explains star Jaye Griffiths.
“There’s something still in Fred, the way he plays him, that’s always very appealing. Celia has a soft spot for him and she’s prepared to ignore the instinct that he’s not what he seems.
‘Celia wants Dylan to be her new Ray. He wants Dylan to prove he’s loyal by taking responsibility for the consequences, and the consequences for Robbie, this young man, are with a baseball bat.
He added: ‘She wanted Dylan to set the consequences, but he wouldn’t, and Celia was secretly pleased, that meant he wasn’t a muscle man, that wasn’t him. He was meant to be a manager.’
