Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) together with the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) are currently drafting the New Energy and Renewable Energy Bill (RUU EBET).
It is targeted that in 2024 the EBET Bill can be passed into law.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif mentioned the timeline in 2024 for the EBET Bill to be ratified and promulgated in the Indonesian State Gazette.
“Historically, the process of preparing the EBET Bill has taken a long time and resulted in 573 DIM (Problem Inventory List), then most of them have been resolved, so there are still several issues remaining,” said Arifin in a Working Meeting with Commission VII DPR RI, Jakarta, Monday ( 11/20/2023).
“In 2024, the target is to ratify the bill submitted by the leadership of the DPR to the President. And promulgation of the bill, promulgation in the State Gazette of the Republic of Indonesia,” he said.
The timeline for the process of discussing and promulgating the EBET Bill will begin in January 2023, which will be attended by the Minister as the Government Representative.
Previously, a working meeting was also held between the DPR RI and the government on November 20 2023 which discussed pending issues (pending issue) results of the Working Committee (Panja) meeting.
In the future, a meeting of the drafting team and synchronization team will be held from 22 November to 30 November 2023 to discuss the results of the Level 1 discussion forum on the EBET Bill.
By December 5 2023, the government and DPR RI are targeting to hold a plenary meeting to discuss at Level II of the DPR.
