7 Ojol Applications Have Been Bankrupt in Indonesia, Here’s the List Tech – 4 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Several years ago, the online motorcycle taxi (ojol) market in Indonesia was busy with local and foreign players.

However, many of them eventually went out of business. For example, Uber, one of the big online transportation players which finally had to leave Indonesia.

The following is a list of online transportation companies whose names are then no longer heard of one by one:

1. Call Jack

Calljack is a local ride hailing application from Yogyakarta. Their service is the same as Gojek/Grab, with two service options Calljack and O’Jack. Unfortunately their names were lost like the earth swallowed them.

2. Ojekkoe

Ojekkoe had 500 driver partners before it became inactive. Even though Ojekkoe is a ride hailing company that was launched as part of the final project of its founder, Katon Muchtar, where their service only charges a minimum fee of IDR 2,500 per day to take passengers.

3. Topjek

When it was released, TopJek offered cheap rates without promos, with superior chat room features, which at that time did not exist in the Gojek and Grab applications. They also limit drivers to 10,000 drivers with strict selection. Even though it looks promising, in fact Topjek cannot survive.

4. Uber

Uber left Southeast Asia, including Indonesia in 2018. Since then they sold the entire business to Grab, so many Uber driver partners have moved to the Grab platform or even Gojek.

5. LadyJek

LadyJek is one of the ride hailing companies that has made a splash as an online motorcycle taxi with female drivers for women. With almost 3,300 drivers, LadyJek looked successful at that time. However, due to limited capital, they also had to go out of business.

6. Blujek

Gojek and Grab’s biggest rivals also went out of business. Unlike the two ride hailing vehicles, Blujek wore blue and had a fairly large fleet at that time.

7. OjekArgo

OjekArgo has been inactive since 2017. Unlike other applications, previously customers who needed this ride hailing service only needed to install the application and did not need to register or create an account on the application.
