Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – BTS’s official agency, BIGHIT Music, announced that RM (Kim Nam-joon), Jimin, V (Kim Tae-hyung), and Jungkook have registered to carry out mandatory military service (wamil) in South Korea. This news was conveyed by BIGHIT Music via the Weverse platform, Wednesday (22/11/2023).
“Hello, this is BIGHIT Music. We would like to inform our fans that RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have started the military service process,” wrote BIGHIT’s statement, as quoted from Soompi.
However, BIGHIT Music has not announced when the four members will start serving in the military. BIGHIT only mentioned that RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook were preparing themselves.
“The artists are preparing to fulfill their military service duties. We will provide further information in time,” said BIGHIT Music.
In the same statement, BIGHIT Music asked BTS fans, ARMY, to continue to provide support to RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook until they complete their military service and return to the world of K-Pop.
“We ask for your love and support for RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook until they complete military service and return safely,” wrote the agency.
Thus, all BTS members are officially on hiatus to serve in the military. Previously, Suga, J-Hope, and Jin had already started their military service.
Jin is the first BTS member to enlist on December 13, 2022. Based on the schedule, Jin will finish serving on June 12, 2024. Then, J-Hope is the second member to start his military service on April 18 and finish on October 17, 2024.
Meanwhile, BTS’s Suga officially began his mandatory military service process on September 22. Reportedly, he was assigned to be a social services officer.
Thus, BTS activities will be temporarily suspended until all members complete their mandatory military service. Meanwhile, the group singing the song “Butter” is certain to be comeback in 2025.
