Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia- The Financial Services Authority (OJK) together with insurance associations have prepared a roadmap for insurance development 2023-2027 as a strategy to improve the insurance sector business in Indonesia.
Chief Executive of the OJK Insurance, Guarantee & Pension Fund Supervisor, Ogi Prastomiyono, in commemorating National Insurance Day, 18 October 2023, revealed the achievements & strategies for advancing the national insurance industry.
OJK noted that in the last 2 years, the insurance industry managed to grow 1.86% (yoy) with insurance assets as of August 2023 recorded at IDR 875.17 trillion and growing 1.59% (ytd). However, a number of homework awaits in the reform of the Indonesian insurance industry, including the low insurance penetration which is still at 2.27% and the insurance density is still the lowest in ASEAN, namely IDR 1.6 million per resident due to the low level of inclusion.
