Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia- WHO Director General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, on Friday (10/11) told the UN Security Council that on average a child is killed every 10 minutes in the Gaza Strip.
Of the 36 hospitals in Gaza and 2/3 of its primary health care centers are not functioning and the hospitals that are operating are far beyond their capacity.
Since October 7, WHO has verified that there have been more than 250 attacks on health services in Gaza and the West Bank.
WHO says hospitals are full of injured, sick and dying people. Morgues are overflowing and operations are without anesthesia and tens of thousands of refugees are taking refuge in hospitals.
This condition occurred as a result of Israel’s attacks on the enclave with a population of 2.3 million people, either through air attacks, sieges or land invasions.
The attack on the hospital occurred as a result of Israeli suspicions that Hamas was hiding weapons in tunnels under the hospital. Hamas has denied this accusation.
