Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Polda Metro Jaya and the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta will again carry out emission test raids for motorized vehicles starting tomorrow at 07.30 WIB, Wednesday (1/11/2023). If you do not pass the emissions test, there will be a ticket. This step was taken after an evaluation involving various parties.
“Until the end of this year, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Environmental Service together with Polda Metro Jaya will carry out emission test raids at 51 points spread across a number of points in five areas of DKI Jakarta,” said Head of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Environmental Service Asep Kuswanto, Tuesday (31 /10/2023).
These emission test raids will be carried out consistently and target more motorized vehicles that do not pass emission tests. This emission test raid is considered very effective in improving Jakarta’s air quality.
“This is very effective. From the results of our study with the international NGO (Non-Governmental Organization), Vital Strategies, it shows that the biggest intervention for emission sources from mobile sources is emission testing,” said Asep.

On that basis, continued Asep, emission test raids must continue to be encouraged. Starting with implementation last September and carried out again in November, emission test raids will run with a refined mechanism.
Meanwhile, Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Latif Usman guaranteed that the implementation of emission test raids which provide fines for motorized vehicles will not cause problems for the public.
“The government is not taking this action to make things difficult for the community. But, to maintain public health, to discipline them,” he said last Sunday (15/10/2023).
