Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – All projects under the auspices of the Telecommunications and Information Accessibility Agency (Bakti) have been evaluated. This follows the alleged BTS 4G corruption case which involved former Main Director Anang Latief and former Minister of Communications and Information Johnny G Plate.
“Currently, we are evaluating all programs and projects carried out by Bakti, whether included in the National Strategic Program or not,” said Bakti Main Director, Fadhilah Mathar at the time. Media Briefing at the Bakti office, Tuesday (24/10/2023).
“Evaluate business processes. Then we ensure that no rules have been violated, both from state administration, state finances and crime,” he added.
When asked whether the Satria-2 project would continue, he said it would continue. Because the public’s demand to be connected to the internet can be solved by using satellites.
“So we will continue to enter the Satria-2 into the greenbook because not all of the demands from the people of Indonesia, which is an archipelagic country, can be resolved using a terrestrial approach,” he said.
Satria-2 is a satellite that will increase the capacity of Satria-1. The satellite will connect 37 thousand points in the 3T area with the internet.

Initially the area connected was 50 thousand points. However, it was finally reduced to 37 thousand points due to large bandwidth requirements with special applications from the education to health sectors.
“Even 3 mbps and 4 mbps is still not enough. So our directors decided that for Satria-1 we would prioritize using the whitelist of applications from priority sector ministries so that the amount of coverage would be reduced because we would increase the bandwidth for the use of these apps,” he explained.
Until the end of the year, the largest proportion associated with Satria-1 was the education sector reaching 60% and 30% for health. The rest is for village governments, border posts and security posts.
“It is to be built in 2023, limited to 10 thousand points,” said Fadhilah.
