Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia BPJS Health succeeded in achieving award as Digital Architect of the Year at the 2023 World Financial Innovation Series (WFIS) Indonesia Awards.

This award is given as a form of appreciation for the contribution of BPJS Health in providing an optimal social security system in the health sector for the community.

BPJS Health Director of Information Technology, Edwin Aristiawan stated that technology and information are now an inseparable unit in implementing health social security programs, especially in the National Health Insurance Program (JKN).

Edwin said, one of the important aspects of the social health security system is data interconnection between the community and health facilities. All data related to this program is linked, ensuring that health services can be provided more efficiently and accurately.

“Even though the diversity of entities and the interconnectedness of data provide great benefits in managing this program, this also brings its own consequences. The greater the diversity and the higher the number of interconnected entities, the greater the potential for cyber threats and the risk of data protection failure in the digital ecosystem. ” said Edwin in an official statement, Thursday (26/10/2023).

He explained that the information technology system implemented by BPJS Health provides benefits for all stakeholders who enter the JKN ecosystem, including health facilities.

By focusing on optimizing existing digital-based services and introducing new innovations, BPJS Health strives to better meet participant needs.

In facing the ever-increasing growth in the number of participants, BPJS Health also understands the importance of implementing sophisticated information technology. One of the efforts made is through data processing using big data technology based on artificial intelligence (AI).

“It is hoped that the implementation of digitalization of health services will not only provide convenience for participants and stakeholders, but will also have a positive impact on the sustainability of BPJS Health and the JKN Program in the future. This is in line with BPJS Health’s vision to answer community needs due to changing times through investment in technology and digitalization,” said Edwin.

He said that currently BPJS Health is optimizing end-to-end cyber security policies, starting from cyber handling management, preventive steps, as well as concrete steps in data protection. This continues to be done so that all JKN participant data can be properly protected.

Edwin hopes that this achievement can strengthen BPJS Health’s commitment to providing quality health services supported by technology and providing easy services that can continue to be utilized by JKN participants in all health facilities.
