Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – If your cellphone memory is limited to only a few GB, there will be times when the memory will be full. When the memory is full it will definitely be a hassle to choose what applications or data you want to delete.
No need to worry because Google has a solution embedded in the Play Store. Usually we will install (install) many applications on the cellphone. However, only use a few applications to support daily activities.
Those who run out of memory will immediately delete the application and not delete the data. The application icon is still visible in the application tray.
This problem seems to be what Google wants to answer. The search engine giant launched a new feature to detect rarely used applications and archive them when the remaining HP memory runs low.
Android Central, citing tipster AssembleDebug on the X account, reports that Google is launching a tool called ‘Automatically archive apps’. This option is available on the Play Store for all users, quoted on Saturday (11/11/2023).
So, users can archive unused apps, instead of deleting them. This archive will be done automatically.
You do this by going to Play Store settings > General > Automatically archive apps. Apps will be archived regardless of the available storage on the Android phone.
Previously, it was reported that Google provided conditions for users to be able to use this feature. This is only used for those who have cellphones with very low storage, so the options will be visible when the application is being installed.
But it seems Google has changed its mind. It is now reported that the option is available to all users and the previous conditions are no longer required.
