Netflix Subscription Prices Increase! Tech – 4 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Netflix is raising subscription prices for several packages in the United States (US), UK and France. This was announced in Netflix’s business report, after recording an increase in subscribers of almost 9 million worldwide in Q3 2023.

This figure exceeds analysts’ expectations, which set a figure of 6 million subscribers, quoted from Reuters, Thursday (19/10/2023). Netflix is optimistic that it will gain a significant increase in the next quarter.

According to the streaming giant, the increase in subscribers was driven by the success of several of its original television series. One of them is ‘One Piece’ a live-action adaptation of the manga of the same name.

Netflix subscription prices in the US for ad-free premium packages have increased by US$ 3 to US$ 22.99 per month. Meanwhile in England, the price rose by 2 pounds sterling to 17.99 pounds sterling. Finally, in France, the price rose by 2 euros to 19.99 euros.

It is not yet clear when this policy will be brought to other countries, including Indonesia. If you look at the nominal increase in the US, it could be that prices in Indonesia have been increased to around IDR 30,000.

Currently, the Netflix package in Indonesia for ‘Basic’ is priced at IDR 65,000 and ‘Standard’ IDR 153,000.

The price has been adjusted since February 2023, following regulations prohibiting password sharing. Previously, the Basic package was priced at IDR 120,000 and the Standard package was priced at IDR 153,000.
