Jokowi: Too Many Drama-Soap Operas Ahead of 2024 Presidential Election News – 5 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President Joko Widodo gave a speech at the 59th Golkar Anniversary which was held at the Golkar DPP office, Jalan Anggrek Neli, Jakarta. On this occasion, Jokowi said there were too many Korean dramas ahead of the 2024 presidential election. What does that mean?

Jokowi’s intention is that ahead of the 2024 presidential election, there should be reasonable political competition. One way is by competing ideas that do not divide and build solutions to overcome the nation’s problems.

“The desire to win is also fine, it is normal, competing to win is a very natural thing, but what we must continue to show is quality democracy, democracy that does not divide, does not slander each other, democracy that builds and produces solutions to the nation’s problems, produce a strategy for the nation’s progress,” said Jokowi.

However, what is happening now is not what Jokowi expected. According to him, there are too many dramas, Korean dramas and soap operas from each camp.

“What I see lately is that there are too many dramas, too many Korean dramas, too many soap operas. It should be a battle of ideas, it should be a battle of ideas, not a battle of feelings,” he stressed.

Jokowi said it wasn’t like that. Each camp should have ideas about how to make Indonesia in the future much better than it is now.

“If there is a fight, feelings will bother us all. There’s no need for me to continue going everywhere and remember from now on what we really hold on to, if we win, don’t be proud, if we lose, don’t be angry. After competing, I agree that Pak Prabowo is united and harmonious again. This is “a competition between members of their own families and fellow nation’s children who both want to develop Indonesia,” concluded Jokowi.
