Institution Formed by Sri Mulyani Sends IDR 31.9 Billion to Palestine News – 7 hours ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The International Development Cooperation Fund (LDKPI) or Indonesian Aid will send aid worth IDR 31.9 billion, equivalent to US$ 2 million to help the Palestinian people, who are currently being attacked by Israeli military forces.

Indonesia Aid is a work unit under the Ministry of Finance which was formed based on Government Regulation (PP) Number 57 of 2019 concerning Amendments to PP Number 48 of 2018 concerning Procedures for Providing Grants to Foreign Governments/Foreign Institutions.

This regulation mandates that the Minister of Finance form a work unit under the Ministry of Finance in the form of a public service agency (BLU). Indonesia Aid is then required to be able to manage international development cooperation funds while making aid activities independent by reducing the burden on the APBN.


Main Director of Indonesia Aid Tormarbulang Lumbantobing said that the funds prepared would be disbursed in the form of medical needs in the form of medicines and health equipment for Palestinians, especially in the Gaza Strip. The delivery of aid will take place next week.

“For the second phase of humanitarian assistance, we have allocated IDR 31.9 billion or the equivalent of 2 million US dollars,” said the man who is familiarly called Tor Tobing in a press release, Sunday (5/11/2023).

Tor Tobing considers that support from the international community, including from Indonesia, is really needed by the country due to increasingly heated Israeli-Palestinian tensions.

Quoting data released by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), he said that apart from the more than 9,000 deaths, 22,911 residents in Gaza and 2,281 residents in the West Bank were injured and needed immediate medical assistance.

Tor Tobing explained that this second phase of humanitarian assistance is part of Indonesia’s commitment to help Palestine, as stated by the President when releasing the first phase of aid yesterday (4/11/2023) at Halim Perdana Kusuma Air Base, Jakarta.

As is known, Indonesia has sent 51.5 tons of aid in the first phase from the government, business actors, non-governmental organizations and various other elements of society. According to him, Indonesia’s support represents all elements of the nation.

The government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense, TNI and Polri, and also the community collaborated well to collect various types of aid materials, plus the next stage of aid which is being prepared by LDKPI.

“The Indonesian government itself is known to have played an active role in international development cooperation, including paying great attention to humanitarian and peace issues,” said Tor Tobing.

He ensured that the APBN was an important instrument in realizing the nation’s national ideals, namely participating in implementing world order based on independence, eternal peace and social justice, as mandated by the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution.
