Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The merger of Indihome with Telkomsel turned out to be a blessing for Telkom. Because the company’s capital expenditure or opex becomes more efficient.
The steps to form FMC or Fixed Mobile Convergence officially took place in July 2023. Users can access Indihome and Telkomsel services more easily.
“Well, in terms of opex, just one simple example is when you used to have Plasa Telkom and Grapari. Now the ones that are close to each other become one without reducing the quality of service to customers,” said Telkom’s Main Director, Ririek Adriansyah, in CNBC Indonesia ProfitsMonday (20/11/2023).
Not only customer service, but applications in the two services are also joining forces. From previously being separated into two applications, it can now be accessed in MyTelkomsel.
With this merger, Telkom’s opex will become much more efficient. On the other hand the user experience is not compromised and is even better.
“In the end, it makes our opex more efficient without reducing the quality of service to customers. The customer experience is also better,” he said.
FMC is part of the 5 Bold Moves launched by Telkom for business transformation. FMC is now in the implementation phase. Telkomsel has already done some, but there are also plans to be released in the future.
“There are several things that have started to be implemented, there are several things that Telkomsel has prepared,” said Ririek.
One of them is related to billing or payment methods. Just like customer service and applications, FMC will combine payment methods for all services used by customers.
“Billing, which was previously separate, is now being processed to be unified to make it easier for customers and easier for Telkomsel if they do cross selling,” he explained.
