Sao Paulo, Parana, and Minas Gerais are three cities in Brazil that make Brazil the largest coffee producer in the world. In January 2022, Statista noted that Brazil exported the highest volume of coffee in the world, namely 3.2 million bags of coffee weighing 60 kilograms.

Generally, Brazil produces coffee using a dry process by leaving it in the open air to dry thanks to the natural heat of the sun.

Meanwhile, Indonesia is in fourth position as the largest producing country in the world. Even though it is below Vietnam, Indonesia has around 1.5 million farmers who run their own coffee plantations and production companies.

“Some of the rarest coffees in the Western world come from Indonesia, including but not limited to Kopi Luwak which is one of the most expensive coffee beans in the world,” wrote the World Population Review report, quoted Monday (20/11/2023).

“Coffee farmers in Indonesia do not take planting, roasting and producing coffee lightly in any way. This can be seen in their final product,” the report continued.

According to the Statista report, in January 2022 Indonesia exported 639.9 thousand bags of coffee, each weighing 60 kilograms.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) said that the main destinations for Indonesian coffee exports were the United States (US), Egypt, Japan, Spain and Malaysia.
