Get Ready, ESDM Distributes 500,000 Free Rice Cookers at the End of the Month News – 1 hour ago

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) said that the process of distributing 500 thousand units of free electricity-based cooking equipment (AML) or rice cookers to the public will begin at the end of November.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif said that the budget implementation list (DIPA) for the free rice cooker program had been published. Currently, the party is in the process of preparing data on potential recipients and the procurement process via e-catalog.

“It is hoped that it can be implemented on the fourth Sunday of November 2023, so that distribution can be carried out immediately until mid-December 2023,” said Arifin at a Joint Working Meeting with Commission VII DPR RI, Tuesday (21/11/2023).

According to Arifin, the lack of implementation of the free rice cooker distribution program is one of the reasons why budget absorption at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has not been optimal. Meanwhile, budget absorption at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has only reached 59.03% as of November 18 2023.

“This realization is still low, mainly due to the incentive activity for converting petrol motorbikes to electric motorbikes, where public interest is still low and also the activity of providing electricity-based cooking utensils (AML) is only in the stage of preparing data on potential recipients and preparing procurement via e-catalog ,” he said.

Previously, the Director General of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Jisman Hutajulu revealed that of the target of 500 thousand rice cooker units that were planned to be distributed, there were already at least 333 thousand lists of potential recipients of AML assistance.

“From the target of 500 thousand units, around 333 thousand units have been registered as of November 14 and are being validated in the field so that by name by address they can be sent to the public,” said Jisman when met after the RDP with Commission VII, Wednesday (15/11/ 2023).

Jisman is optimistic that the process of distributing 500 thousand free rice cooker units to the public can be completed by December 2023. Meanwhile, he hopes that the procurement process for rice cooker units can begin this week.

“This week I have to decide, so we hope that this week we will have to shop, and after that there will be procurement and then delivery,” he said.
