Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Concert promoter Coldplay ‘Music of the Spheres World Tour’ Jakarta, PK Entertainment, open their voices regarding the number of concert ticket holders who cannot enter venues concert because tickets have already been used.
Co-Founder and COO of PK Entertainment, Harry Sudarma, said that overall, the first concert by Chris Martin, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland and Will Champion in Indonesia went smoothly. However, Harry admitted that there were a number of shortcomings during the concert, including many ticket holders who were unable to enter venues. He said, this would be a learning and evaluation for his party.
“Regarding brokers or secondary ticketingthis being one problem “or the biggest and most difficult challenge for us to face on the day of the concert because from that one person alone we sold 2,268 tickets with only 39 tickets,” said Harry at a media meeting in Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Office, Monday (20/11/2023).
“So we can imagine, thousands of people are trying to get in but can’t get in because their tickets have been detected as duplicates and the original tickets have already been entered, they have been stolen.scans. So that’s also what yesterday was in the process of making delay from the influx of spectators,” continued Harry.
Harry said that his party was forced to only carry out a visual inspection (visual check) for 10 minutes at the entrance (gate) because the situation was starting to become unfavorable. He admitted that PK Entertainment had discussed this matter with the authorities.
“So that the flow of ticket buyers and spectators can enter more quickly. That is also what causes an increasing number of people to buy tickets from brokers,” explained Harry.
Harry said that his party was forced to close the entrance (gate) shortly before the concert starts to avoid crowds building up inside venues. Besides that, gate was also closed because the situation was increasingly unfavorable, especially between ticket holders and concert officials.
“There was an act of physical violence against the team ticketing and team security. After consulting with management and the authorities, it was finally decided gate Entry closed at around 21.20-21.25 WIB,” explained Harry.
“As a result, there are some people who buy tickets officially through what we always call “ticket war” Can’t enter because we have closed the door. If it is opened and the masses break in there will be risks over capacity in the festival area,” concluded Harry.
