Parker collected packages from a motorcycle taxi driver not far from his villa at Kuta Beach, Bali, on January 21.

When he saw police officers patrolled nearby, he threw the package and ran, according to court documents. Forensic found the package containing one kilo of MDMA, a class A drug that was also known as ecstasy.

The electrician told the police that he was asked to take a parcel by a friend, who said someone else would then gather it from him.

Officials accused Parker with drug smuggling, which in Indonesia means he faced the death sentence by firing a team if found guilty.

But after the police found he did not have a bond with the package, he was charged with a lower crime and sentenced to 10 months in prison.
