Aitana Bonmati had been hospitalized with a virus meningitis less than a week before Spain began their Euro 2025 women’s campaign.

The 27-year-old player has missed a 3-1 Friday victory over Japan in a friendly match because Spain continued to build their first Group B match against Portugal on July 3.

Bonmati shared a photo of him watching a match from a hospital bed in an Instagram story.
